- Clear ownership
- Low maintenance
- Explicit failure modes
- Simple rollback and removal
Bias: boring is good when it runs for months without attention.
Done means: someone else can operate it with confidence.
What I avoid
- Automation without a stable workflow
- Systems no one trusts
- Tools that require constant babysitting
- Complexity added for prestige
How I use tools
I use tools (including AI) when they improve clarity, speed, or reliability. If they add uncertainty, they don’t ship.
